THE RELATIONSHIP OF COMPLIANCE WITH MEDICATION TO INCREASED BLOOD PRESSURE IN HYPERTENSION PATIENTS IN SALABANGKAPAKU HOSPITAL
Abstract
Hypertension is the most common disease suffered by Indonesian people which can occur as a result of one of the problems that often arises from lifestyle changes, such as consuming foods with high salt content. Hypertension is thought to be the cause of various serious diseases and their complications. Explain the relationship of medication adherence to increased blood pressure in hypertensive patients.
In this study, the authors used a cross sectional research design. The population in this study were all hypertensive patients at the Salabangkaku Hospital as many as 73 people with a non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling. The independent variable in this study was medication adherence and the dependent variable in this study was an increase in blood pressure. The instrument in this study used a questionnaire and SOP for measuring blood pressure. Data analysis used the Spearman Rank test with a significant level of 0.05.
Based on the research, it can be seen that almost all of the respondents who experienced mild hypertension 23 (85.2%), a small proportion of severe hypertension 2 respondents (7.4%) were almost all obedient in taking medication 25 (92.%) while a small number of respondents who suffered from moderate hypertension 2 (7.4%) a small portion is quite obedient in taking medication (7.4%).
The results of the Spearmans rho test show that the probability value or error rate (p : 0.001) is much smaller than the significant standard ( : 0.05), then H1 is accepted Ho is rejected which means there is a relationship between medication adherence and increased blood pressure in hypertensive patients in hospitals. Salabangkapaku.
