Exclusive breastfeedingAbstract
Exclusive breastfeeding is giving breast milk (ASI) as early as possible after giving birth, given without a schedule and no other food given until the baby is 6 months old and continued until the child is 2 years old with appropriate additional food. Formula milk can be given to babies if breast milk production is not sufficient for the baby's needs. The formula milk given must be adjusted to the dose and needs of the baby, because giving too much formula milk can cause obesity. Data collection using observation sheets and Health Cards. This research method is quantitative analytical research using a cross sectional research design. The sampling technique for this research uses a purposive sampling method with a total of 30 respondents, where the researcher selects the sample first according to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria set by the researcher. The research sample was mothers who had babies aged 6 months. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate (Independent t test). The research found that the 30 samples from this study consisted of 15 formula milk groups and 15 exclusive breastfeeding groups. Based on the independent t test, p value = 0.036. The value is smaller than α = 0.05, so it can be concluded that Ha is acceptable, which means there is a significant difference in the weight of babies who are given formula milk and those who are exclusively breastfed.
